Get to Know… The Ecclesia Security Team

We have been so fortunate through the years to have an amazing team of people that provide security for our morning gatherings.  We were able to film interviews with two of our guards: one past and one present.  Jason Brown used to to be a paid security guard and now volunteers his time on the Welcome Team.  Jeff Wood is a familiar face around Ecclesia.  Through his job as a security guard, he got involved in the life of Ecclesia and joined a community group.

You may also have seen Leslie around on Sundays.  We weren’t able to film her story, but here’s a little about Leslie:

1.)    Tell us about yourself.  Where are you from and how did you get into security?

My name is Leslie, and I am a Security Specialist who works at and attends Ecclesia Church in Hollywood. I am originally from Oklahoma and Texas; a southern gal transplanted in the Golden State. I landed into the security business by speaking with some of the security personnel when I worked at a major studio lot in Culver City. I became interested, and it catapulted me into a job as a Security Show Specialist for some major Television judge shows, talk shows, sitcoms and red carpet events.

2.)    What is your faith background and upbringing?

I was brought up Catholic. My mother took my brothers, my sister, and me to church every Sunday (thanks Mom). Christian holidays are also a big deal in my family. I love much of what I learned, and within my mind, I have carried with me certain prayers that I still recite every single day.

3.)    Tell us about your experience working at Ecclesia.

I am very grateful and blessed that Ecclesia has fallen into my life so that my faith of the Holy Trinity of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit has been rekindled and strengthened. Noticeably, the people here are kind, peaceful, and gentle… strong in faith and hunger for learning the teachings that the Bible has to offer.

Some of the high points that I noticed about Ecclesia is a relaxed atmosphere with creative, fun and uplifting, generous people who are willing to help. Oh, and don’t forget the cool rock music. I really do care about this congregation.

When you see them on Sundays, be sure to thank them for the amazing job that they do every week!
